imo when u talk to a recruiter or an interviewer, i think it all comes down to tone and facial expression to differentiate desperation/nervousness from excitedness/passion bc ur in that interview bc ur passionate, it just matters on how u convey it physically and verbally

i think a good thing to keep in mind is that tell me abt ur self is an open ended question, so dont come off as trying to give the right answer. the "right" answer mindset usually skips the motivation and just goes straight to “i was x, y, and z and did a b and c” so include a lot on your drive to be in that position, and maybe how that drive can help scale a company’s goal
