Question: How do you not throw up when asking recruiters or professionals stuff like that directly ("do you have 15 minutes for a conversation about....") I'm shaking like a chihuahua when I request office hours. Genuinely, how do you get over that fear?

That's a really helpful insight - thank you for that. I find myself terrified and talking myself out of conversations that could help my career because making an imposition paralyzes me. I think if I try to remember that they're also just people, I'll feel better.

The worst that they can do is ghost or say no! Also, with rejections in general (since I used to work in sales) I always remind myself that it’s a business decision, not a personal one.

I have this inspirational video I go back to every so often to stop flipping my gourd over doing normal business moves (such as sending in my resume to open positions) which has the phrase "everything you want is on the other side of embarrassment," and I have to try harder to live by that. And to make sure I know people don't have it out for me; they're also surviving and trying to make good decisions. 🙂
